Australian fashion

As reported earlier shopping isn’t so much fun in Australia, because you can’t take your man with you in the fitting rooms. If you want to show the new piece to your man, you have to go out of the fitting rooms into the shop. I don’t like that much.

Besides fashion in Australia is something you have get used to. On the other hand I don’t know what’s in at the moment in Austria, maybe it’s exactly the same.

rosa_girls.jpgThe 80ies are back or were never gone. Everything is sparkling and twinkling and there are a lot of frills. Studded and other belts are in, skirts are also frilly and I have seen ultra-long shirts and colorful pantyhoses with no feet - and most of these things are pink and mint green/turquoise. I see a lot of things I had worn when I was a little girl and it shocks me quite a bit.

Besides the 80ies retro chic the Australian fashion is best described with one word: short. Skirts are so short that they are rather belts and the tops are short and tight. The body shape of the girls is obviously not so important, the main thing seems to be that every piece is - short.

The Australian shoe fashion is dominated by flipflops, ugg boots and incredible high highheels. Flipflops are ok, although I don’t think they are extremly comfy. Ugg boots are boots with sheepskin inside and they are preferably pink. Lots of girls wear them in winter and in summer(!) with their very short skirts. And highheels. They are amazingly high, I could never walk with them properly, and you can get them in all colors, again preferably in pink and mint green.

I just can say that I had enough from the 80ies fashion in the 80ies, I don’t need this fashion again. But that’s of course only my very personal point of view.

The only good thing is that I don’t go shopping that often and therefore I spend less money. At least Mike is pleased.
