Despite an enormous selection of various Australian beers in the pubs of Perth, there is not really one beer that would suit my taste.
First of all, I would like to say that my favorite beers are Ottakringer, Budweiser (but only the real czech beer and not the poor watery American copy) and Hirter.
On the day of our departure, from Vienna to Perth, I indulged in a pint of a real good Austrian beer. Arrived in Perth we went straight away into the next pub and tried several Australian beers. One of the first things I realized was that Australian beer is served ice-cold. And that’s much too cold for me personally. It’s so cold that I always think that Australians love to suck on beery ice cubes.

I also noticed that it’s not common to drink Fosters in Australia, since this was the only Australian beer I have known in Austria.
After innumerable attempts to find a beer, which to some extent meets my beer taste, I got stuck with Heineken. It’s not an Australian beer, but at least it tastes like a beer!
Beers I recommend:
Tooheys Extra Dry, Hahn Premium and Crown Lager
Beers I can not recommend:
Victoria Bitter (VB), Emu Bitter and Redback Beer

Your a w…,
Heiniken sucks, and we serve beer ice cold because we have a partically long summer, and most of our states are warm all year round. Its alright though you can drink your luke warm shitty tasting beer, obviously you’ve never had Coopers, or west end draught, tooheys new, and carlton cold.
Stay where you are. A keep your aussie beer hating opinions to yourself.
