My first sip from the water tab in Perth reminded me strongly of a sip from the swimming pool.
Perth drinking water is not so bad, but it’s purified and thus a light chlorine taste remains in your mouth. Besides it depends in which city district you’re staying, because in some areas you can have an intense rusty aftertaste.
The water in Perth is drinkable, but usually you buy water bottles in the supermarket or use a waterfilter system.
Soda water, mineral water or water with bubbles is not very common in Australia. After quite some time we’ve found soda water of Schweppes in the supermarket and now we can enjoy our beloved “Spritzer” (common Austrian drink - refers to a mix of white wine with soda water).
