One of the first things which our colleagues advised us was to lock the car while we’re driving here in Perth.
This is particularly recommended if we plan to drive in the Southern districts of Perth. If you ask why it’s more dangerous in the Southern districts you get usually an evasive answer. Well, there live rather low-income families and also many Aboriginals and it’s simply more dangerous there. Full stop.
Well, you should lock your car while driving mainly for saftey reasons. Allegedly, there are people (I reckon from the Southern districts) who tear open the car door while you’re waiting for green at the traffic lights and steal your purse in the better case and kill you in the worst case.
Our colleagues affirmed us that everyone of them knows at least another one to whom such a thing has truely happended in the past.
