The Austrian “Bankomat” is called ATM or Automated Teller Machine in English. You find one of this wonderful ATMs on every corner of Perth. There is only one problem. You have to find one which belongs to your own bank.
Because if you don’t use the ATM of your bank, you have to pay quite a huge fee. At our bank you have to pay $1.50, approx. 90 Eurocent, if you withdraw money of an ATM which doesn’t belong to the National Australia Bank. That’s then when you search the whole shopping center, only to find out that the National has not a single ATM at this mall.
On the other hand it can happen that there are six ATMs next to each other. But you discover them only after you had withdrawn money from an ATM which doesn’t belong to your bank.
