As we have already reported, there are only 5 national television channels available in Perth. The programm choice is therefore rather limited to begin with. Because most of the Australians are very into their sports, the tv channels provide us with many live broadcasts of many games.

So it’s not unusual that one channel shows one football game after another, the next channel shows a cricket game (did I mention that cricket games can last up to 5 days in Australia?), the third channel shows tennis, the fourth channel has a show about a famous football player from the 60ies and if you are lucky you can watch a home and garden show on the fifth channel.

The almost unbelievable thing about this is that this programm is broadcasted on a Friday evening, 8 pm! You’re really forced to give up watching tv! Did I mention that we have a membership card of a video shop for the first time in our lifes?
